ROPE MANIPULATION - speaking knots
During this session, I will share the main methodology that I have developed since my Master studies at DOCH in Sweden. A series of task-based improvisation approaches to create confined spaces of research within which practitioners can experiment freely on the aerial apparatus. The emphasis of such exploration is to train to speak the language of knots, where knots are opportunities for new pathways. The purpose is to encourage participants to make conscious choices, to think through movement and to be present HERE and NOW, with the aim to expand and deepen our adaptive skills. My objective is to stretch the technical knowledge we have of our practice through personal experience and spur us to think in terms of knots instead of tricks only.
ROLLING TECHNIQUE
I will share a variety of exercises as well as small and longer sequences to help you improve and better understand the art of rolling. Roll ups, roll downs, rolling on the spot, entries into S-lock that I have found through my creative and rope manipulation research. Starting from the ground, we will gradually move onto a higher level. The point for me is to allow everyone to refresh the basics while experiencing them through my lens as well as to give to each and every participant the opportunity to push their own limits. Personal technical advice and requests can be taken on board too if some participants have specific questions or ideas they would like to try out.
We will end this intense weekend with a partner stretch and massage using the rope instead of our hands.
